It is a thrill for us to know that you are checking out the electronic home of the First United Methodist Church in Wahoo, Nebraska, a place where “Friends become Family.” It is our sincere hope and prayer that through the information and pictures on these pages you might get a taste of what it is like to experience the loving, caring, and sharing family of the First UMC. The First UMC in Wahoo is one of the mission outposts of the Great Plains United Methodist Annual Conference.

There are so many ways people can get acquainted with our church family. We have a Praise Worship service at 9 a.m. Sundays along with a Traditional Worship at 10:30 a.m. Sundays with a fellowship time between services, beginning at 10 a.m. Please check our calendar for other activities.

If you would like us to pray for you, please submit prayers through our prayer tab. If you would like someone from our faith family to contact you, please include your name, phone number and email along with your prayer request. Reaching out and connecting with people is one of our primary goals.

Each Wednesday of the Wahoo Public Schools academic year, our church hosts Friends in Faith for elementary-age children from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each week, these young people learn about an aspect of the faith, play games, and work on crafts. Your child would be welcome, as well, by our well-trained cast of volunteers and staff.

On the last Wednesday of the month, our faith community offers OASIS, a time of gathering for some wonderful music by our praise team followed by a free meal to anyone in the community who would like to come and be part of the worship, meal and fellowship. Oasis starts at 6:30 on the last Wednesday of most months of the year.

Additionally, thanks to the generosity of the Enola and Delores Larson family, the church offers college scholarships of up to $1,200. Check out our Foundation page for an application.

We hope that by browsing these webpages you will learn about our faith family and be inspired to come, visit and worship with us. We trust you will find something of value to your faith journey. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you, again, for visiting. Come back as often as you can.

Shalom,
Pastor Mark Crist, M.Div., D.Min.
